0811U1 (Imperial Prussia) - Prussian enlisted Hussar Attila (tunic) of Hussar Rgt. Czar Nicholas
II of Russia , 1st Westphalian No. 8. Obergefreiter (larger NCO disc on collar) of
the 1st Squadron (shoulder strap button0 dated 1914 issue and unit marked
to H.R.8. Virtually mint condition with near perfect cording, nickel silver
toggles and rosettes. This "Attila" is tailored in high quality Prussian blue
wool. The rare large size is 38/40. At the start of the war in 1914, mobilization
took place so fast that many Prussian regiments went to war wearing their pre-war
uniforms until such time as enough field gray
Attilas (introduced in 1910 for field wear) were produced and issued. Since
Prussia was at war with both France and Russia (and keeping with the policy that
all field wear shoulder straps would have numbers in lieu of regimental cyphers), this
1914 issue Attila has number eights (8's) for unit designation only. Prussian Hussar
regiments normally consisted of five squadrons (companies) with No. 1 being the
elite of the five (used for ceremonial, parade, shooting, sword and lance skills
and horsemanship). The 8th Regiment was brigaded with the 11th Hussar
Rgt. (2nd Westphalian ) and in 1914 fought immediately from Belgium to the
Marne, Somme, Arras and Lille. From November 1914 Hussar Rgt. 8 fought on the
Russian Front through 1915/16 and 1917/18 returning to the Western Front in
1918 to form part of the Guard Cavalry Rifle Brigade as assault infantry. This
Attila has no mothing or stains and is in exceptional condition. A rare
offering. $1995. More Photos |

features matching detachable pebbled gold buttons and sewn-on Generalmajor shoulder
boards. The buttons and boards all show age and wear consistent with the rest
of the greatcoat. The dark brown leather reflects high quality construction
throughout. This fine example shows two areas of period repairs. One at the
lower front buttonhole and the other at the right hip pocket. This private
purchase piece saw some serious action at the front with the general opting
to repair his coat rather than replace it. There is age-damage to the leather
along the back upper-shoulder area. The interior reflects incredible
construction with small leather tabs protecting the coat from the ring
attachments for the buttons. There is also an opening for the general's
dagger. The size is around 40. rare. $3850. More Photos |

officer's aluminum eagle is neatly hand-stitched. On the lower right sleeve
is an AFRIKAKORPS cufftitle that is professionally hand-stitched. Above the

three sets of loops. This tunic is accented with beautiful cornflower blue
piping that runs along the top of the French cuffs, around the collar and
down the front of the coat. There are several very minor moth nips on the
back and on the upper left sleeve. These do not detract from the general
appearance of the coat. There are no moth nips on the front. The interior
features a Berlin tailor's tag. There is a opening from which a dagger
can be suspended. There is evidence of light staining and wear on the
artificial silk gray/green lining. The matching trousers feature the
same cornflower blue medical stripe that runs the length of the outside
seam. There is a stray minor moth nip "here-and-there". At the bottom
of each cuff are mis-matched fastening buttons indicating wartime
replacement. It's the AFRIKAKORPS cufftitle that greatly enhances
this set. $2,999. More Photos SOLD |
087U9 - Army panzer jacket 2nd model for an oberfeldwebel by Paul Opalla. This beautiful
jacket features beautiful and matching sewn-in shoulder straps for a panzer
oberfeldwebel. The matching skull tabs are original to the jacket and machine
sewn. The white panzer eagle is professionally hand-stitched as is standard on
wraps. Over the left breast area are three sets of vertical loops for
decorations. There is a machine patched area about 1 inch long on the right
side. This does not detract from the overall appearance of the jacket. The interior
of the jacket features partial off-gray cotton lining. The Paul Opalla
manufacturer's stamp is on the upper left breast along with the size stamps. The
jacket is dated as indicated by B39. There is an additional stamp on the
opposite side that reads B H 7.8. 49871 that I believe might be from a museum
stamp is also present. There are two blackened areas along the cotton strips
that run along the waist. I believe these may have been further evidence of
this being in a museum at one time. This is a highly
collectible example. $7,750. More Photos |

characteristic of these coats along with the over-sized lapels. The coat further
features panzer officer leutnant's boards, panzer skull tabs that have been re-sewn
at one time and a hand-sewn officer's panzer bullion breast eagle. The eagle shows
wear consistent with the rest of the coat and insignia. There are two sets of loops
over the area of the left breast. There are minor repairs evident around the four
front button holes. The interior is lined with the characteristic light gray
cotton. Over the upper left breast area are the size stamps. There is also an
area that was repaired on the right-side underarm. This is a very rare and good
representative example of an early panzer officer's jacket. $9,500. More Photos |

constructed piece. The tunic features pleated pockets is scalloped flaps. The matching tabs
were replaced at one time or another. The eagle is very neatly hand-applied and I believe
period done. The aluminum collar tresse is machine sewn and I believe original to the
tunic. The boards indicate a change in rank as indicated by the additional holes on
each. This was very common to simply add and change the position of the pips. There is no
mothing or staining. The interior is nicely marked with size stamps and 40 dated. $1795. More Photos |
081U3 - Named Heer Generalmajor's walking out dress tunic. This beautiful high-quality tunic
features red front piping and red piping on the French cuffs. The bullion collar tabs and
shoulder boards insignia shows the highest quality in construction. The tunic's handsewn
general's rank gold bullion breast eagle shows excellent detail. The pleated left breast
pocket and immediate area has four sets of loops for the general's decorations. There are
loops above the left breast for an extended ribbon bar. This tunic is further enhanced by
being named to Generalmajor Hellmuth Hiepe. The tailor made tunic was originally
purchased by Hiepe as an artillery Oberst. The tunic's tailor label/ name tag indicates
Hiepe purchased the tunic 6.8.40 while an oberst ( full colonel). When Hiepe was later
promoted to generalmajor he elected to upgrade the tunic with the addition of
general's insignia. Hiepe commanded Artillery Reg't. 17 from 1938 to 1940. He was
later promoted to general on February 1, 1942. As a walking out dress tunic for an
artillery colonel, the red piping was authorized. Fortunately for Hiepe, the red
piping was also standard for officers of general rank. The tunic has several areas
of minor repair and light mothing around the dark green collar area and upper rear
torso. The repairs include a small mended area near the left breast pocket and
left rear side. This is highly desirable named tunic. $8750. More Photos |

shows wear. The left breast has four loops for a ribbon bar. The pocket has two sets of

on the four pleated pockets and front all match. There are no detracting stains or moth
damage to the officer grade flannel wool material. The interior is lined with gray
artificial silk. There is no maker's label or name tag. There is a slit for a dagger
but the hanger has been removed. This is one of the nicest infantry officer's tunics

gabardine gray wool. The trousers feature white piping down each pant leg seam indicating

suspender (braces) and fly buttons. Judging by the condition of the interior, the trousers
show light wear. There is a tailor's label with an officer's name tag sewn inside the
right rear pocket that reads, "E. BREUNIGER A.G. STUTTGART Hauptmann Holz…dated 5.1.38". There
are a couple of very minor moth nips but these are not large or noticeable. $550. More Photos |
079U10 - Heer riding breeches with leather seat. I had a pair identical to these several
months ago. These are not mint but they are not abused either. I would rate these are
probably of later construction based on the different fabric used. The pants are nicely
marked along the waistband including Russian stamps. $675. More Photos |
079U11 - Heer tropical " Afrika Korps" cotton corduroy breeches. These breeches feature a
built-in belt. The cord material is olive green cotton. The front fly button have been
replaced at one time or another judging by the contrasting thread compared to the thread
used for the interior buttons and securing the button for the rear
pocket (loose thread). The breeches are marked along the waistband but this is
faint. These rare pants would look great on a tropical mannequin. $750. More Photos |
078U3 - Heer tropical breeches. These breeches are the type worn by troops in Italy. They
feature smooth olive-brown cotton material with an internal belt and are stamped on the
inside waistband " …M43…" One of the cotton tie strips of cloth has been torn and is
short. Otherwise, these pants are in great shape and would look wonderful with a tropical
tunic . Rare and near mint. $850. More Photos |
057u1 - Heer Atillery Hauptmann's dress tunic. This is in the "untouched" condition.
This exceptional tunic complete with its original accoutrements. Including the
grade 6-8 marksman's lanyard with 2 "acorns", ribbon bar and EK1. The matching,
sewn-in shoulder boards (red piped) indicate the rank of Hauptmann (captain) and
the Gothic cipher "B" shows he was in an Observation unit. The mis-matched
numerals "15" tells me at one point he was assigned to a different unit. One
of the rank "pips" was broken and is in the pocket (sorry) . I elected to not
repair this as I wanted this to be in as much of its "virgin" state as possible.
The collar tabs and boards match in wear. There is "vertigris" on the metallic
insignia indicating storage and age, The NCO style breast eagle is also "telling"
as to the authenticity of this wonderful tunic. The four pockets and eight button
front all having matching buttons and thread further indicating its "untouched"
condition. I love this piece. There are two small holes above
the bar that might indicate at one time or another a combat clasp was attached.
There is minor mothing evident on the back side of the wool collar revealing the
buckrum materal. This is not evident from the front so it displays well. There
are no interior labels or name tag. There is also a dagger slit. The exterior has
very minor moth tracking but nothing through the materal. This wonderful and
historic tunic is offered with all decorations for $1650. More Photos |
