1207SS2 - Very rare SS officer's Ärztliche Akademie cufftitle with bullion officer's eagle, Untersturmfuhrer rank tab and Hauptsturmfuhrer sew-in shoulder boards. In 1937, the SS established a school in Berlin to train its own medical personnel. In addition to graduating field medics for the SS regiments and the VT division, the institution maintained a curriculum for doctors as well. In general, the SS Academy of Medicine enrolled only commissioned officers in the MD program. In September 1940, during increasing RAF bombing missions against Berlin, the academy transferred to Graz in former Austria. It occupied a building near Graz University, some of whose professors assisted in training SS medical students. The SS medical school remained open until the end of the war, enrolling a significant number of non-German SS members. This SS insignia grouping was all part of a single veteran purchase. The cufftitle was worn by SS officers on the staff at the SS Academy of Medicine. The Machine woven flatwire cufftitle measures 15.0 inches and was removed from a tunic. The two white piped shoulder boards display the waffenfarb of a training school staff member. Instructional staff at Braunschweig and Bad Tolz wore white waffenfarb. The officer's bullion wire tunic eagle displays period wear and was also removed from a tunic as was the single three piped rank tab indicating the rank of an Untersturmfuhrer. 1611SO12 - Near unobtainable mint should board set of Reichsarbeitsfuhrer Konstantine Hierl. This stunning set features highly a defined Reichsarbeitsdienst ensignia beneath a NSDAP state eagle on each of the boards. These cyphers are affixed to interlaced cello cords of gold and silver with black highlights. The underlayment material of the boards is black velvet further indicating the highest quality of construction made exclusively for the leader of the German Labor Corps. The two shoulder boards are attached by a cord of silver thread with an attached manufacturer's seal that reads "Reichs Arbeit Dienst".
