Kriegsmarine Grouping of Leutnant zur See Karl-Heinz Gegner

2211MAB8 - Kriegsmarine Grouping of Leutnant zur See Karl-Heinz Gegner. Karl-Heinz Gegner was born 18.04.1918 and presumable perished on 20.10.1942 while serving on U-216. Oblt. Gegner's posts in the Kriegsmarine included serving with the 12. Unterseebootsjagdflotte during which time he was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class on 8. December 1940. On 11. MARZ 1941 he was awarded the Destroyer badge while serving with the 6. Torpedobootsflotille. It is probable that he served aboard either "Jaguer", "Wolf", or "Seeadler" during this period of service. The 1944-45 Rangliste does not include Lt. Karl-Heinz Ggener's name indicating he either separated from service or was killed in action. Only one Kriegsmarine boat was destroyed on Gegner's date of death being U-216. He may not have served on-board long enough to qualify for the U-Boat war badge. This stunning grouping includes his award documents for the Destroyer badge dated 11. Marz 1941, Minesweeper badge dated 28.November 1940, the award for the Iron Cross 2nd Class dated 8. Dezember 1940, a postcard addressed to him and two Ehrentaffel documents mentioning his name. The badges included in the grouping include the Destroyer badge, the Minesweeper bade and the Iron Cross 2nd Class. There also is included a Kriegsmarine tally for the "Torpedoeboot Luchs" . Last there are two Kriegsmarine magazine publications rich which photos and texts containing news of Knights Cross recipients and other Kriegsmarine related news. $2500.  More Photos

2209H5 - Early 1940 dated RLB subordinate cap. This light weight cotton cap features a factory applied machine woven RLB emblem. The interior is lined with light brown cotton and is dated 1940, size stamped 58. On one interior side of the hat is a machine sewn red sunburst black swastika emblem of the RLB. The maker August Schellenberg, Berlin was one the foremost suppliers of headgear during the Third Reich period providing visor hats for military as well are political and civil organizations. Early SS Ehrensaber by Alcoso

2209SO1 - Early SS Ehrensaber by Alcoso. This magnificent example features nickle silver plated over a brass lionhead hilt. This saber is a custom ordered blade displaying a combination of Alcoso components being a pommel and backstrap from model #119. The crossguard and "P" guard were taken from the dove head model. This Ehrensaber's bright unblemished blade measures a full 38.5 inches indicating it was carried by a very tall SS officer. The hilt's components are deeply cast and show excellent detail. The lion's head has no glass eyes. The reverse langet presents the original owner's jeweler engraved initials "H H ". Under the langet is the barely visible Alcoso name and trademark scales. It was not until 1936 that the SS Ehrendegen was introduced for wear. The scabbard is in near pristine condition displaying its original black painted finish. The overall length of this outstanding saber is 44.5 inches. It would make an interesting research project to determine which SS officer this saber originally belonged to based on his height and HH initials. Early Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler personnel had demanding height requirements. This is by far the most outstanding SS Ehrendegen ever offered by Oakleaf Militaria. $3,700.  More Photos

2209H3 - Named Luftwaffe Regiment Hermann Goring NCO/Enlisted visor hat by Robert Lubstein ( later Erel). This well marked 1937 dated hat features white crown and capband waffenfarbe as worn exclusively by personnel of the Regiment Hermann Goring and later Hermann Goring Panzer Division. The upper wool Luftwaffe blue body is totally free of mothing and stains. The insignia consists of a 1st pattern Luftwaffe eagle with a down-turned tail and aluminum kokarde. The black ribbed mohair capband is in perfect condition. The interior is lined with water-resistant copper brown cotton. The Robert Lubstein rhomboid shaped sweat diamond is complete with minor separations in the stitching. The original owner's name is inserted into the sweat shield proclaiming the name "Hamann" and his unit " 2. Wachtkp. Rgt. H. Goring". Under the complete leather sweatband is well-stamped "III. Regt. The exterior upper body of field gray wool is in excellent condition having no stains or mothing. The vulcanfiber visor shows no evidence of age crazing. The green wool felt capband is in perfect condition The interior is lined with crème color artificial silk. The Pekuro celluloid sweat diamond is fully intact but the maker's name has worn with wear. Inserted into the sweat diamond is the original owner's name and rank indicating " Oberleutnant Gronhoff ". 2209U8 - Named Panzer Grenadier Waffenrock tunic and trousers for Knights Cross winner Grenadier Oberfeldwebel Heinrichs. This outstanding example features the grass green waffenfarbe worn by the motorized infantry units. The waffenrock coat displays matching green piped shoulder straps and collar tabs. Each shoulder strap displays two rank pips and a border of aluminum tress indicating the Oberfeldwebel rank. The collar and nine-button front closure are each trimmed with a line factory machine sewn green waffenfarbe. On the upper right breast area is a bullion breast eagle as often worn by senior non-commissioned officers on the dress uniform. On the lower sleeve is the specialty insignia of Infantry. The interior is lined with gray cotton fabric. The lining shows nice period use as shown by areas of slight discoloration. Over the inside breast pocket is sewn the tailor's label proclaiming Hesemann, Hanover. Inside the pocket is sewn the owner's nametag that reads Grenadier Heinrichs, 7. Komp. Inf Rgt.56. The straight leg gray wool trousers are also trimmed with matching grass green waffenfarbe that extends down each pant leg. The trousers are unmarked internally. All buttons are originally sewn and present. The trousers display a five button front closure with two slant front pockets and a pleated front. Luftwaffe Hauptmanns tropical four pocket tunic with owner's initials

2209U7 - Luftwaffe Hauptmann's tropical four pocket tunic with owner's initials. This fine example is constructed of heavy cotton tropical tan fabric. If features removable matching shoulder boards for a Hauptmann with yellow waffenfarbe. This color waffenfarbe indicates the Hauptmann was attached to either a flight or Fallschirmjager unit. The tunic displays two pleated breast pockets. The hip pockets are unpleated. The tropical brown pebbled aluminum button thar secure the front show light period wear. Over the lest breast pocket are a series of loops presumable for the attachment of a flight clasp or ribbon bar. On the left breast are three sets of loops for the attachment of the officer's qualification badge and awards. The exterior is in excellent condition displaying very light wear. The interior displays the Peek & Cloppenburg, Berlin maker's stamp and size. This maker was also known for its production of panzer jackets. This four pocket tunic features a single Allgemeine shoulder board indicating the rank of Untersturmfuhrer through Hauptsturmfuhrer. O the left side facing collar is the Hauptsturmfuhrer rank tab presented by three rank pips and two stripes. On the right side facing collar tab is handsewn 57 indicating the Standarte. Each of the collar tabs are bordered with aluminum piping and are handsewn applied". The collar is also bordered with this aluminum piping. On the left upper sleeve is the multi-piece constructed SS brassard. On the left side pleated breast pocket is a single set of loops for the display of an award. On the right- side pleated breast pocket is a Marz 1 1935 dated SAAR pin. On the upper right sleeve is handsewn the "Old Fighters{ chevron. On the lower left sleeve is is a bullion cufftitle with the Roman numeral "II" for the 2nd Sturmbann. Inserted into the left-side French cuff are two photographs, a folded note and a folded age-soiled news page. These were found at the time the tunic was acquired by the collector.The interior is lined with black artificial silk. 2208U1 - Very rare named Leibstandarte four pocket service tunic for a Stabsscharfuhrer ( Regimental Sergeant Major). This four pocket tunic features a single Allgemeine shoulder board indicating the rank of Hauptscharfuhrer. Research indicates individuals holding the rank of Stabsscharfuhrer had no assigned board for that appoinment rank. On the left side facing collar is the rank tab presenting two pips and two stripes. On the right side facing collar tab are hand embroidered bullion SS runics. Each of the collar tabs are bordered with alternating aluminum piping and are handsewn applied". The collar is also bordered with this alternating piping. On the left upper sleeve is the multi-piece constructed SS brassard. On the lower left sleeve above the French cuff is a hand embroidered Adolf Hitler cufftitle done in Sutterlin script. The drape features three panels of which two display the Totenkopf "Death's Head" with the center panel featuring the early style eagle. All three panels are done in heavy silver bullion thread with accents. Black velvet provides the base material on which the bullion embroidery is shown. 224FE4 - FLAKFERNROHR 10 X 80 Luftwaffe crated flak optical device with tripod. This large flak spotting optical device is supported by a tripod. This large optical device was used for locating enemy aircraft. Complete with the accessory crate that measures 18.5 x 22.5x11.5 inches is the optical device is headrest pad amongst the accessories. The exterior of the crate reflects original postage stamps used to send the crate to the United States in 1945. Of particular interest are four official documents written in September 1945 authorizing Cpl. Harvey Priekset to send the Flakfernrohr home to Mr. Hans Moeller of Rock Valley, Iowa whose name and address appears on the crate. Oktober 1942 Bottcher was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class again whilw serving with the 10th Infantry Regiment 284 as a Feldwebel. The last award document is dated 6.Oktober 1944 for the award of the WINTERSCHLACT IM OSTEN 1941/42 medal. This perfect example features a central Mother’s Cross design surrounded by six iron crosses. . The dedication reads, “DURCH MUTTER UND HELDEN IST UNSER DER SIEG”, “THROUGH MOTHER AND HERO IS OUR VICTORY”. On the underside of the teller is another inscription that reads, “Juleteller Der SS 1944”. The Allach trademark Sigrunnen appears center. Presented to select individuals, this Yule teller features a high relief eagle with the dedication reading, “WIR WERDEN UNS HERUMSCHLAGEN BIS UNSERE VERFLUCHTEN FEINDE SICH ZUM FREIDEN BEQUMEN JULEFEST 1943” which translates to, “WE Have to fight our enemy until they surrender for peace.” Another inscription appears on the back of the teller that reads, “Worte Friedrichs Des Grossen An d’ Argens translating Im Jahre 1758” which translates to “The words of Friedrich the Great at D’Argens 1758” inscribed on the reverse side of the plate.. 224IMP1 - Pre-1900 Bavarian Garde Regiment waffenrock that accompanied the estate of World War II General der Artillerie Paul Bader. This medium blue wool tunic features matching shoulder straps with an embroidered gold cotton crown indicating the Garde Regiment. Each of the sewn-in shoulder straps is secured with a single bright silver button with the Arabic numeral 10 indicating the regiment. The upright style red wool collars display brocade rank stripes. The front presents and is closed with bright silver buttons each displaying a crown. The red cuff of each sleeve displays decorative litzen having and a silver crown button. 224H5 - NS ORDENSBURG VOGELSANG Tuchmutze. Nationalpolitische Erziehungsanstalten ( NAPOLA) also known as NPEA or Adolf Hitler School Sidecap. The NAPOLA school system was first founded in 1933 shortly after Adolf Hitler became Chancellor with the mission of educating and indoctrinating carefully selected youths to become the future leaders of the Third Reich. Eventually twelve schools would be in operation. This sidecap features a triangular aluminum flatwire eagle machine sewn to the left side panel. The front displays a pebbled aluminum button with the party eagle affixed with a split pin. The exterior is in unissued condition being free of any mothing or stains. The interior displays a RZM Tuchmutze tag. A stamp appears on the lining “Eigentum Der N.S. Ordensburg” (Property of NS Ordensburg Vogelsang). The size is stamped 58. Rare. $750.  More Photos

224H4 - NSDAP Party Leader M43. This outstanding example features gold crown piping and a gilt party eagle. The party brown wool body is totally free of any wear, stains and thing of the material. The two side scallops are joined at the front with two brown plastic buttons. The interior shows a complete artificial leather sweatband and is free of wear. I have little doubt there is an RZM tag under the band but I’m reluctant to fold it back in fear of separating the brittle band. The size 55 is stamped on the crown. Rare presentation goblet

224SO4 - Rare presentation goblet presented to Oswald Mosely by Benito Mussolini. Oswald Mosely was founder of the British Union of Fascists being pro- Nazi, pro-Fascist in Great Britain. In 1940 after the German/Italian outbreak of war with Great Britain, Oswald Mosely was imprisoned for his pro-fascism support. Released from prison in 1943 he lived in disgrace and lost all political influence. This goblet stands 8.0 inches in height. Inscribed on the goblet is the dedication, “OSWALD MOSELY DATO AL MIO AMICO E CAMPAGNO UN VERO OFFICIALE IL DUCE” with a facsimile of Benito Mussolini’s signature. The inscription translates to, “… GIVEN TO MY FRIEND IN THE CAMPAIGNE IL DUCE MUSSOLINI” It is unmarked but appears to be silver plate. The goblet features a gilt Italian fasces symbol on the reverse side of the inscription.. Presented to Oswald Mosely by Benito Mussolini. $3500.  More Photos
