197EW1 - Early SA by GIESEN & FORSTHOFF. This dagger features excellent matched nickel silver fittings. The eagle displays excellent detail showing no wear. The upper grip SA button is perfect. The brown hardwood grip is totally free of chips and cracks. It fits the upper and lower crossguards perfectly. Definitely high quality made dagger. This dagger is rated an 8 on the McSARR listing of rarity making this dagger a relatively rare maker. The SA motto, "Alles Fur Deutschland" is deeply etched. The GIESEN & FORSTHOFF maker's mark is present on the reverse. There is one minor distraction with the blade's tip has been reduced by about 1/3 inch. $650. More Photos

The obverse and reverse sides of the blade are in excellent condition with the cross-grain still evident. The Gottleib Hammesfahr trademark is etched on the reverse.
