Very rare U.S.N. Submarine Combat Patrol awards with 3 stars indicating 3 successful missions

148USMAB1 - Very rare U.S.N. Submarine Combat Patrol awards with 3 stars indicating 3 successful missions. This set of U.S. Navy awards includes three shirt pocket size awards worn over the left breast shirt pocket, a full size "Dolphins" qualification badge presented upon completion of Submarine school in Groton, Connecticut and three small lapel size pins. The larger "Dolphins" award has had its retaining posts removed in order that it could be sewn-on as further evidenced by the miniscule holes that have been drilled that appear on each side of the submarine's crested waves beneath the dolphins. The badge is marked H-H, Imperial. The three Combat Patrol awards each differ in their backing. One is a pinback award marked STERLING. another has had its retaining posts removed to make it a sew-on award. It too is marked STERLING and the third appears to be sterling abd is a cluth-back piece having only the posts remaining. The three smaller awards, two submariner, one Combat mission with two patrol stars are unmarked. Rare set. $450. More Photos
